High Quality casework design by László continues with a couple of other neat touches.
A pull out corner until beside the minibar, a pop-up make-up mirror int he desk ( where more lighting is required ) and a bed headboard that includes bedside tables neatly recessed int he side and a flush, light boksz to illuminated the artwork above the bed. Nothing radical here but neatly done and well finished.
Noteworthy for its intelligents is the rear terace leading from the first floor restaurant, L19 that streches accros the wall floor plan. Not the secluded tranquility of its high bank walls, the colorful contemporary out door furniture populating the timbered decking nor the rusting sheet steel of the planters at the rear wall. It is rather that this rear wall doubles as a ventilation „chimney for the hotel’s plant and machinery that are located undernear the terace. Four years in the planing, Lánchíd 19 buildings up a number of invowen stories that will become clearer with a prodution of a book to better explain them.
The unassuming Valkó may have his thumbprint ont he front of this building (he is the little coy boy about the fact) but it is rather his largesse of spirit and open-mindedness that have ultimetaly allowed the realation of so many other’s dreams. It is a hotel development that sums up the news spirit of Budapest – strikingly modern yet full of character.
