The Parliament building was constructed at the end of the XIX. century in neo-Gothic style. Among other relics, the Holy Crown, the orb, the scepter as well as a Renaissance sword are kept there. The building’s architect was Imre Steindl. He was inspired by the design of the London’s Houses of Parliament. The main cupola of the Parliament is decorated with statues of Hungarian kings.
Nowadays the government uses only part of the building, so guided tours are held in the Parliament in different languages several times a day.
