Cultural programs in Budapest, capital of Hungary.

Classical organ solo concerts are held each Wednesday at 4 PM in the 2000-year old Inner City Parish Church in the center of Budapest. It is a wonderful church that worths visiting as well.  Professional organ choir concerts are also a favourite cultural program of tourists traveling to Budapest. It is organized in the baroque St. Michael’s Church on Saturdays at 7 PM.

St. Stephen Basilica, which is a major tourist attraction itself, also holds concerts each Monday and Friday. These cultural programs are also highly recommended  as the sound of the world-famous historic pipe organ of the Basilica – Budapest can be heard only at these occassions. Saint Stephen’s Basilica is the largest Roman Catholic church in Budapest, it was planned and built in 1851 and has been recently renovated.

The left tower offers a magnificient panorama of the city. Not only downtown Pest, but also the Castle hill, the Citadel and the other Buda hills are visible from there. In the right tower the largest bell of the country – weighs 9 tons – can be found.
Downtown Budapest is around 10 minutes from our design hotel situated at the Buda side of the city, by the Danube riverbank and beneath the Buda Royal Palace. Most of our guests like visiting the district around Basilica as it is a very lively area full of good cafés, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The Buda side is a more relaxing place, so after visiting downtown Budapest, it is great to relax in Lanchid 19 hotel, offering a great view over the city.
