Art Market Budapest 9-12 October at Millenaris Cultural Center
The most popular international contemporary art fair in Budapest. Exhibitors arrivie from over 20 countries and over 20 thousand international visitors are the proof of the fair being more and more popular.
Pálinka & Sausage Festival 3-5 October at the Royal Castle
Popular Hungarian fruit shots, sausages and other typical Hungarian meat specialties will be the main attractions of the event. Cultural programs and concerts will be accompanying this event.
Beer & Blues Festival 25-26 September at Corvin sétány
Beer, blues and movies will be the main highlights of this year’s Beer & Blues Festival at the Corvin Movie Theater. Around 20 craft breweries – both local and international – will offer beer specialties.
Buda Castle Wine Festival 10-14. September
You can taste award winner Hungarian wines and meet the best Hungarian wineries in the Royal Castle District. Cultural programs and concerts are also part of the program.
Sziget Festival – August 11-18.
The biggest European open-air music festival in Budapest. One week of all kinds of programs, concerts, pubs, sports, girls, boys and fun in August. Most famous groups performing on the week-long event: Prodigy, Placebo, Outkast, Lily Allen, Calvin Harris, the 1975. Cultural and sport programs, gastro curiosities and non-stop party.
Wagner Opera Festival: June 12 – July 12
The month-long event takes place at the Bartok National Concert Hall at the Palace of Arts. Conductor Ádám Fischer and famous solo singers perform The Ring of the Nibelung’ and the ‘Tannhäuser’, among others. Opera lovers
Iron Maiden concert: July 3 at Budapest Sportarena
Maiden England is the title of the program based on 1988 Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son. Much awaited concert in Hungary.

Gourmet Festival: May 30-June 2 Millenaris Park
For years now it is the most popular and diverse Hungarian gastro event in Budapest. The best Hungarian restaurants, wineries, gastro art shops will be present as well as cultural programs featuring Hungarian music and theater performances. We recommend this program to all people interested in the traditional gastronomy of our country or just look for a great cultural program.
Pálinka Festival: May 15- 18 Városháza Park
Well known distillers and pálinka houses will present their best drinks in the city-center of Budapest. Pálinka is a Hungarian specialty all visitors should try, they are made of the best Hungarian fruits: plum, peach, apple and so on. Try all, but not at the same time!
Everlast concert: May 14 Budapest Park
Concert of the Grammy-awarded American rapper in Europe’s greatest open-air concert hall. His music ranges from blues to hip hop and rock.
Air Race over the Danube: May 1
Due to the popularity of the event throughout the years, the spectacular show will be organised again this year on the Danube bank with DTM, Formula 1 and WTCC cars and drivers as well as famous pilots.
In the morning air show over the Danube between Chain Bridge and Elisabeth Bridge, in the afternook car show by the Danube riverbank featuring Daniel Ricciardo, Mark Webber, Sébastian Loen and many other popular pilots.

Cirque Éloise ID: April 22-23
International dance and circus art performance.
Robbie Williams: Swing Both Ways Live – April 25

Christmas Fairs in Budapest – between December 1 and 31
Budapest is proud of its authentic Christmas markets. In the biggest squares and most popular touristic sites there are bigger or smaller Advent Fairs throughout the city. Probably the two most popular and most traditional fairs are at Vörösmarty Square and at the Basilika. Hand-made Hungarian crafts can be bought as gifts for the beloved ones, concerts, laser shows, dance and theatral performances are part of the entertaining programs. Hungarian food specialites and mulled wine are musts top try.
If you are looking for less traditional and more modern fairs, WAMP – the Hungarian Design Market and Design Terminal Xmas market are for you, Wamd Design Market is held each Sunday at Millenaris Event Hall. Design to Go – Christmas Fair at the Museum of Applied Arts is also an annual Xmas market where you can meet contemporary Hungarian designers and their crafts.
Christmas Concerts and performances
Each year the Budapest Opera House presents Nutcracker Ballet Show on December 25 and 26. La Boheme is also a performance you can see on December 25, Die Fledermaus Operetta on 26th.
Organ Concerts are held at the Budapest Basilica on 28 and 29 December.

For the 14th time a Christmas wonderland is built in the city center where visitors find traditional folk and innovative artisan crafts, Christmas delicacies, Advent Calendar in the windows of the famous Gerbaud Confectionary, entertaining cultural programs.
European Figure Skating Championship – between 13-19 January 2014
The European Figure Skating Championship will be held in Budapest in 2014 in Syma Event Hall.
Autumn Budapest programs:
World Press Photo Exhibition in the Museum of Etnography between September 27. and October 27.
Each year an awaited exhibition on Budapest, presenting 167 photos documenting last year’s happenings worldwide. We recommend it to the ones who want to be aware of what is happening in the world around us. The photo of the year was won by Paul Hansen documenting an extremely sad moment: two young children and their father carried to the burial ceremony as they were killed by an Israeli missile strike.
The 1st Prize General News Single was awarded to Rodrigo Abd for the photo of a woman crying while recovering from injuries having received when her house was shelled by the Syrian Army.

Buda Castle’s Wine Festival – the best wines of fifteen countries, gastro-wonders. Dozens of different cultural programs, that you can enjoy before/after wine and foo-tasting. Portugalia is in the center of attention this year. Besides Hungarian wines several foreign wine distributors exhibit their products as well. The International Wine Festival in Buda Castle Hill is an experience for everyone who wants to learn about the art of wine making, sample some of the best Hungarian wines, meet notable wine makers and enjoy Hungarian gastronomy and folk music all in a breathtaking setting. On stage musical events include: jazz performances by the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. The Ghymes, the Csík Orchestra and Magna Cum Laude will also be performing. Be sure to attend the folk music and folk dance gala. The closing chords of the Wine Festival will be provided by the Csík Orchestra.
The festival consists of several events that take place at different venues during the second week in September 2013.

Budapest Spring Festival -22 March 2013 – 7 April 2013
The festival is the greatest cultural program offer of the capital city in the spring season. On Good Friday, the world-famous Collegium Vocale Gent will perform Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. On Saturday, Christoph Prégardien, will make a debut in Budapest as a conductorof Le Concert Lorrain and the Nederlands Kamerkoor in Bach’s St. John Passion. Besides a beautiful mass by Mozart, the program will include two magnificent cantatas by Bach, both composed for the Easter Sunday service.
Creative talents flourishes profusely throughout Hungary’s capital during annual Budapest Spring Festival, beginning this month with a bountiful array of world-class performance by accomplished artists from all around the world. each day between March 22 and April 7, the festival’s diverse line-up offers presentations ranging from lush symphonies led by living-legend conductors to avant-garde choreography or intriguing crossover shows, all staged at varied venues citywide like Budapest Music Center, Church of St.Teresa of Avila, Deák Square Evangelical Church, Eötvös 10 Cultural Space, Italian Institute of Culture, Palace of Arts, Thális Theater.

Budapest Dance Festival -19-29 April at several venues
