The street construction and the renewal of Castle Bazaar has finally ended and we are glad to have a wonderful neighbourhood full of attractions: the Buda Royal Palace, the Castle Bazaar, Lánchíd (Chain Bridge) and so on.
The series of buildings and gardens were built in the 19th century based on the designs of Miklós Ybl architect (he designed, among many other buildings, the Hungarian State Opera House). Castle Bazaar and the Royal Gardens have been a major cultural center till the 80’s. Many concerts and exhibitions were held there. And now Budapest got back its famous site in its famous glory.
Since the Bazaar and Royal Gardens are part of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites, the monument has to be restored to its original state, but many new elements will add new focus to it: the escalator to the Royal Palace, underground event rooms, art galleries and concert halls. Visitors can enjoy a walk in the splendid Neo-Renaissance garden or visit exhibitions or see the gigantic, 1:500-ratio scale model of Budapest or simply enjoy the view of the Danube and the Pest riverbank. The buildings provide a number of interesting architectural details, exciting parts, cracks, and passageways.
Lanchid 19 hotel is happy to be neighbour of the Castle Garden Bazaar of Budapest.
