Hungary’s most important contemporary arts festival is held between 3–19 October. It offers 250 events at 47 venues, featuring contemporary music, opera, theatre and circus performances, literature evenings, photo street festival and design exhibits. Art Market Budapest and Design Week Budapest are major programmes to visit.

Major venues include the Palace of Arts, Liszt Academy, Erkel Theatre, Budapest Music Centre, Trafó House of Contemporary Arts, Millenáris Cultural Centre, Átrium Film Theatre, Bálna Cultural Centre and A38 Ship.
